Mamady Sano the artistic director of Ballet Merveilles de Guinée would like you to join him on an unforgettable journey to his home country Guinea to learn the culture through drum and dance.
Don´t miss the opportunity to learn from the best in the country that the rythms where born.
The last few years Mamady´s students in Guinea have come from Iceland, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, United States, France, South Korea, England, Italy, Greece, Japan and Spain. It is a blessing to meet new friends who share the same passion for the african culture.

Schedule mondays to fridays :
8:00 breakfast
9:00 - 11:30 dance/drum class
12:00 lunch
13:30 Merveilles de Guineé repetition
It is included in the trip to dance/drum in Merveilles de Guinée warm up monday-thursday
afternoons can also include
doundounba, go to market, swimmingpool or get your clothes tailored.
19:00 dinner
We welcome both dancers and musicians to come study in Guinea
You can choose to do dance classes or drum classes.
Saturday and sunday are free days to go for example to beach, swimmingpool ,market ,get your clothes tailored and explore Guinea. We will all together do sightseeing and a day trip to a Island in the free time.
Mamady will also take you to see shows with local artists.
Mamady Sano and local artists will teach the classes and some of the best muscicians in Guinea will play live music in classes.
Students will learn history of the rhythm and dance and songs to accompany them.

1 week : 700 Euro
2 week : 1400 Euro
deadline for signing up and full payment is december 1st 2026
cost includes : dance/drum classes, Merveilles de Guineé repetition, 3 meals a day, housing and transportation to and from airport.
cost does not include : airfare to and from Conakry,Visa and vaccinations.
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for people travelling to Guinea ....other vaccinations are optional.

Mamady Sano is a world renowned dancer/choreographer and musician. He started dancing and drumming at a young age with his father Mohamed Kemoko Sano the director of Ballet Djoliba , director and choreographer of Ballet Africains and founder of Merveilles de Guinee.
Mamady travelled with Merveilles de Guinee to Mali, Ivory Coast and all over Guinee before he moved to America in 1997.
Since he moved there he did workshops all over North and South America and also travelled to Europe and Asia for workshops.
He was a residence teacher in Long Island University, Alvin Ailey and Djoniba dance and drum School in New York City.
Mamady is an amazing danceteacher known for his high energy classes and intricate dancemoves . He is one of the most popular and sought after west african dance teachers in the world.
Since 2022 Mamady is the artistic director of Ballet Merveilles de Guinee and is based in Iceland and Guinea. Mamady still travels around the world for workshops.
