The stone collector keeps his collection in brightly coloured plastic buckets. Inscribed on the stones are declarations of love and secrets, which he handles, sorts and arranges with care and childlike curiosity.
Gradually, the stones form a trail from the buckets of childhood towards the audience, passing from hand to hand as gifts, confessions and fragments of a personal inner world.
Like the stones that mark the way in the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel, the collection becomes a path between childhood and adulthood, the personal and the collective. What was once picked up, kept and hidden is now given away, one stone, one confession, one secret at a time.
