Airwaves : Janus Rasmussen

Faroe Islands-born, Reykjavik-based producer Janus Rasmussen blends sonic precision with emotional depth. Over the past decade, he has developed a distinctive sound through his work as a producer, songwriter, musician, and mix engineer, creating immersive electronic music driven by intricate sound design, subtle melodies, and compelling rhythms.
His 2026 album Inert marks his most ambitious solo project yet, exploring creative freedom and breaking free from inertia. Incorporating his own vocals more prominently than ever, the album pushes his sound into new territory while retaining his signature restraint and emotional depth.
Alongside his solo career, Janus is one half of the internationally acclaimed electronic duo KIASMOS with Ólafur Arnalds. Together, they have performed at major festivals, clubs, and venues around the world.
