Heyrðu mig
Ásmundarsalur, Freyjugata 41, 101 Reykjavík Directions
Sun 16.08.2026 20:00
The work Heyrðu mig is inspired by the life of dancer Diljá Sveinsdóttir, who was born deaf and has, in her own unique way, forged a path as a professional dancer and artist. The work tells the story of her journey — from childhood to the present day — where struggle, perseverance, life, and art flow together through movement, rhythm, and the body. The work opens a door to a world where dance and sign language intertwine with visual experiences and a soundscape that reflects physical perception. The work is performed in an installation by Jóní Jónsdóttir. Between shows guest can see the installation aswell as an installation in Gryfjan in Ásmundarsalur, which also is a part of the work.
