Heyrðu mig (i.e. Hear Me Out) is a dance work inspired by the life of dancer Diljá Sveinsdóttir, who was born with limited hearing but underwent a cochlear implant as a child. Since then, she has forged a path as a professional dancer and artist. Sveinbjörg Þórhallsdóttir is the choreographer of Heyrðu mig and is also Diljá’s mother. The dance work tells the story of Diljá’s journey from youth until present day, where struggle, perseverance, life, and art flow into movement, rhythm and the body. The dance work is performed within an installation by Jóní Jónsdóttir, which is based on the ear itself; the cilia and the cochlea. Music and soundscape are by Urður Hákonardóttir and light design by Kjartan Darri Kristjánsson.

Sveinbjörg Þórhallsdóttir is an Icelandic choreographer whose work explores the relationship between inner states and physical expression. She holds a dance degree from New York and an MA in Choreography from Fontys University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Her practice is rooted in a search for authenticity in movement—where time, sensation, and presence converge. Through meditation and deep attunement to the body's internal impulses, she creates spaces where movement can emerge intuitively, shaped by the dancer's lived experience.
