Voormalig David Bowie-producer Tony Visconti en drummer Woody Woodmansey brengen met het project 'The Best Of Bowie' een eerbetoon aan de legendarische artiest. Het optreden wordt aangevuld door zanger Glenn Gregory (Heaven 17) en topmusici van Holy Holy, evenals gitaristen Paul Cuddeford en James Stevenson, Jessica Lee Morgan en toetsenist Janette Mason. Visconti, die aan Bowie's eerste albums werkte en er tien produceerde, staat zelf op het podium, terwijl Woodmansey de iconische Ziggy Stardust-periode tot leven brengt. De tour speelt in op recente momenten van herdenking en belooft een avond waarbij duidelijk wordt waarom Bowie's werk nog altijd resoneert. Zaal: Grote Zaal. Holy HolyHoly Holy manifested something when they gave themselves that reverent name in 2011. Since then, Oscar Dawson and Tim Carroll have created their own sound: a combination of indie pop, art rock and bittersweet lyrics that just hit different. Liam Gallagher heard their devastating truth when he went to a show in 2019. He tweeted lyrics to Sentimental and Monday: ‘Darkness is nothing but a lack of light as you were LG x’ It began with debut album When The Storms Would Come in 2014 - all Knopfler and Young guitars with Oberst and Springsteen sighs through a unique Stockholm (Carroll) meets Melbourne (Dawson) lens. Paint (2017) had a robust confidence to it (That Message, Shadow) and contained a proper hit True Lovers (50 million + streams across DSPs). My Own Pool of Light (2019) showed off ecstatic, Gorillaz pop (Faces) and paeans to mortality (Teach Me About Dying). Holy Holy extended their range on Hello My Beautiful World (2021), with CLEWS and rapper Queen P. Their latest work with Kwame on Messed Up wrong-foots listeners; much like their forebears, Radiohead. Messed Up sounds like Rufus re-doing Vangelis’ original Bladerunner soundtrack, drum’n’bass style. Off the back of the 19 bangers added to the national youth broadcaster, devoted fans have helped Holy Holy achieve one Double Platinum and four Gold singles. All of this bodes well for their fifth album with three, edgy feature artists. Intrigued? Just you wait.
