Acclaimed Swedish-Argentinian singer-songwriter José González will return to Australia and New

Zealand in February and March 2027, marking his first Australian tour since March 2024, when he

celebrated the 20th anniversary of his landmark debut album, Veneer.

The tour follows the release of his fifth studio album, Against The Dying Of The Light, which was

released on 27 March 2026. Exploring the accelerating development of artificial intelligence,

technological responsibility and the challenges facing humanity, the album pairs González’s signature

fingerpicked guitar and understated vocals with a more urgent lyrical edge, while maintaining his

enduring sense of melody, intimacy and hope.

Audiences can expect a captivating live experience spanning González’s acclaimed catalogue, including

beloved tracks “Heartbeats” and “Crosses”, alongside music from his latest release.

The Australian tour begins at Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaide, on Wednesday, 24 February, followed

by On The Banks, Brisbane, on Thursday, 25 February. González then performs at the iconic Sydney

Opera House on Saturday, 27 February, before heading to Palace Foreshore in Melbourne on Sunday,

28 February.

The New Zealand leg begins at Meow Nui, Wellington, on Tuesday, 2 March, continuing to the New

Zealand International Convention Centre, Auckland, on Wednesday, 3 March, and concluding at Isaac

Theatre Royal, Christchurch, on Thursday, 4 March.
