Mapping the Westfjords Together: an Illustrated Map of Memories and Imagined Places

On October 21, a pop-up exhibition will present an illustrated map of the Westfjords created during Viktorija Eziukas’ residency at ArtsIceland, alongside a selection of illustrations inspired by the landscape and experiences of the region.
The exhibition will also invite visitors to become part of the map by drawing or marking their own favourite, memorable, or magical places in the Westfjords. Through these contributions, the map will gradually become a collective and imaginative portrait of the region, shaped by the experiences and perspectives of its visitors.
Viktorija Eziukas is an artist working across illustration, drawing, and mapping. Her practice explores the relationship between personal experience, exploration, and imagination, with a particular interest in how landscapes can hold stories, memories, and hidden worlds.
