Join us for a special screening of the Japanese film “Prayer: Figments of Nagasaki”

Set in Nagasaki in 1957, twelve years after the atomic bombing, the film follows two Catholic women who still bear the physical and emotional scars of the war. As they secretly gather fragments of a statue of the Virgin Mary from the ruins of Urakami Cathedral, “Prayer: Figments of Nagasaki” explores the lasting impact of the atomic bombing, as well as the faith and history of Nagasaki’s Christian community.
