Pioneering national youth music charity The Push will celebrate 40 years of championing young people and Australian music with Push Over – 40 Years of The Push, a landmark celebration at Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne on Saturday 21 November, as part of the Live at the Gardens series.

Featuring Bodyjar, Frenzal Rhomb, Killing Heidi, Magic Dirt and Regurgitator, this one-day-only special event brings together artists whose music didn’t just provide the soundtrack for generations of young Australians, but helped define them.

And in a treat for fans, each headlining artist will be joined on stage for a special guest appearance by Alex Lahey, Alice Ivy, Baker Boy, members of Public Figures, Ruby Fields and Teenage Joans, each with a personal connection to The Push.

For those who were there, it's a chance to relive it. For everyone else, it's a chance to be part of it.

2019’s breakout kids music sensations Regurgitator’s Pogogo Show have released their debut album, the typically adventurous (and playfully-titled) The Really Really Really Really Boring Album. Having performed at a number of children’s events in recent years, the multi-platinum, multi-ARIA Award-winning band have developed the kids music project Regurgitator’s Pogogo Show - a typically manic playground that careers between punk, hiphop, funk, electro-pop and everything in between, true to their inimitable nature. This new project sees longtime Regurgitator trio Ben Ely, Quan Yeomans and Pete Kostic joined by the effervescent Koko direct from Planet Rainbow. It’s already struck a chord with families around the country – jumping to #1 on the Children’s iTunes chart.Of course, it’s all done with smiles all round, and with a certain feeling of destiny. As Ely observes: ‘‘Doing a kids album really feels true to our nature”.The band have never been more excited: “We’ve got our tiny amplifiers warmed up, our teeny drum kits tuned and plenty of soap for our filthy little mouths. Magic Dirt
Magic Dirt, the seminal female fronted alternative rock band from the 90's, comprised of Adalita, Dean Turner, Raul Sanchez and Adam Robertson (past members Daniel Herring and Dave Thomas). Formed in Geelong in 1991, it wasn't long before the band was packing out pubs in Melbourne and supporting bands like Pavement and Sonic Youth. Their 2nd EP, 'Life Was Better' (1994), debuted at #1 on the alternative charts staying there for a staggering 75 weeks. They then released their super heavy 1st album 'Friends In Danger' in 1996, followed by the blistering, 'Young And Full Of The Devil' (1998). In 2000 the band released 'What Are Rockstars Doing Today' which included anthemic hit, 'Dirty Jeans', followed up by the multi-ARIA Award nominated 'Tough Love’ (2003). Magic Dirt continued to blitz the live music circuit cementing their status as one of Australia's best loved and highly respected bands. In September 2006 they released their 5th studio album, 'Snow White' and after parting ways with Warner Music Australia later that same year the band released all noise album 'Roky's Room', 'Beast' and their 6th studio album 'Girl' on their own label, 'Emergency Music'. In 2009 the band suffered the devastating loss of founding member and bassist, Dean Turner and consequently went on an indefinite hiatus. Nearly a decade later, after a chance reunion in their hometown of Geelong, the band have decided to hit the road again, in honour of their bandmate and their long and extensive legacy.
Bodyjar
Longevity. Not a word that can be aligned with many bands these days, but one that can certainly be applied to Aussie punk legends Bodyjar.

For nearly 20 years now the band has consolidated their local &international following with relentless touring demonstrating the blistering high energy live shows that have made Bodyjar one of the most respected punk bands in the world. The band now boasts hordes of committed fans in Japan. America, Korea and Europe.

Highly respected by their peers, the band can count amongst its fans members of The Foo Fighters, Yellow Card, Good Charlotte and Blink 182 who the band have toured with no fewer than 4 times, including being invited to tour America with for their hit album Anema of the State. This would coincide with being signed to Nitro records owned by The Offsprings Dexter Holland.

You wont last long in the fickle music industry without killer songs & the ‘Jar have delivered consistently throughout their career, From the sonic assault of 1998's “No Touch Red” through to 2000's gold selling “How It Works" & 2002's “Plastic Skies”, the Jar have released a string of classics including top 20 singles “Not The Same”, "One In A Million" & "Too Drunk To Drive".

The band entered a Hiatus in 2006 to find a normal life away from constant touring and recording, but could never shake the constant show offers and emails asking them to play and record. So finally they are back!

With a renewed energy and flurry of incredible songs, the band have rediscovered their love of music, and are back with the brand new album. “Role Model” illustrates that love, allowing them to deliver what could be their more cohesive set of songs yet. The new album Role Model out on October 18 will leave no doubt in fan’s minds that Bodyjar still have it after all these years. Fast paced and full of melody and energy, the album showcases the rare talents of a band that has been around for 20 Years.
