Orlando: Writing Across Perspectives and Identities

with Gabrielė Labanauskaitė

Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s Orlando, this workshop invites participants to experiment with writing from different genders, identities, roles, ages, and social positions, and to explore how changing the position of the writer changes the text itself.

After the Ritrými session, we will host a poetry book launch and conversation exploring body, gender, and identity at 19:30 at Mengi. The event is open to the public.

Our guest, Gabrielė Labanauskaitė, is a poet, playwright, interdisciplinary artist and pioneer of audiovisual poetry in Lithuania. She is the founder of the creative writing community IŠ TYLOS (FROM SILENCE), an associate professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and holds a PhD in theatre studies.
