Welcome to an exhibit of works by American artist Rob Cook!
Rob has immersed himself in Iceland’s natural beauty and folklore as an artist-in-residence at ArtsIceland. His focus on sustainability is evident in his collection of foraged non-native plants, fibers, and even fish skins from the Westfjords. His work comes together in the form of handmade paper, the basis of his art, to which he adds touches of whimsy for you to explore and enjoy.
A sculptor, Rob was born in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, where he received his BArch in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University and has recently been conferred with an MFA degree in Sculpture from Towson University in Baltimore, MD, USA.
Having always been drawn to nature and reflective of our place in it, Rob uses paper as a medium to promote environmental stewardship and to inspire others to join him in appreciating the beauty of the natural world. Rob currently shows his work, made from natural materials and recycled or repurposed waste, in local galleries in the Mid-Atlantic region. His work encourages visitors to rediscover the joy of spending time outside.
