In their first days of college in 2021, musicians Lucas Aney and Thomas Jensen found common ground in their passion for funk. They formed the band Telula and spent countless hours learning to professionally record, produce, and release music – all out of their dorm. Their work paid off in a nine-song album, each track showcasing their unique sound and individual proficiency on bass and guitar.
Now followed by more than 250,000 fans around the world and viewed by millions online, Telula’s love of funk is evident in the music. They take inspiration from greats such as Stevie Wonder and modern masters like Vulfpeck, while incorporating their own pop and jazz influences with contemporary twists. Their music is soulful and dynamic, with intricate melodies backed by funky rhythms.
Bringing the sound to life on stage are Tais Torres on vocals, Lars Asmundsson on drums, Conor Smith on sax and Noah Lin on keys. Their combination of technical proficiency and artistic expression creates a sound that is both inspiring and energizing. Telula released their "Fade" EP in 2023 and kicked off a series of live shows to bring the music to fans everywhere.
