Our youth partly defines us. The memory of the 'first' stays with us. The first love, the first kiss, the first of anything. The first time we experience the pure bliss of music. Therefore we go back to the music which defined our youth.
When artists couldn't argue over on Twitter... they were forced to include their 'beefs' in their lyrics! The pinnacle of course being when Eminem putting "Little b*tch put me on blast on MTV" about Christina Aguilera in Without Me to which she responds with a cover of "The Real Slim Shady" in which the hook "Slim Shady please stand up" is replaced with the pretty straightforward "Slim Shady please shut up". It was great.
